The surface area of Lake Palestine is 25,560 acres (roughly 39.94 sq mi) and reaches approximately 58 ft at its deepest point. At it’s widest point, Lake Palestine is roughly 4 miles across.
IS LAKE PALESTINE NATURAL OR MANMADE?
Lake Palestine is a manmade lake that was formed when a dam was built on the Neches River. Construction began in 1960 and its first (and only) expansion was completed in 1972. Today, the dam is owned and operated by the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority.

WHERE ARE THE BEST PLACES TO FISH ON LAKE PALESTINE?
Hybrid stripers and white bass are most active in the winter and spring from the dam to Highway 155. Largemouth bass happens best above the pipeline in the upper end of the lake. Catfish are most abundant from Hawn point to the Highway 155 bridges. Crappie are easiest to find in springtime near Hwy 155.
